The Penn State Coaches Caravan will make six stops at events in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and Connecticut as the tour enters its second week. Football Coach Bill O'Brien will be joined by Lady Lion basketball coach Coquese Washington, men's golf coach Greg Nye and women's volleyball coach Russ Rose at various stops throughout the week. The Coaches Caravan, presented by the Nittany Lion Club and Penn State Alumni Association, is making 18 stops in seven states and Washington, D.C. O'Brien will be at each event, with 11 other coaches appearing at various stops. (more)

The Penn State men's volleyball team (23-6) saw its season come to an end Thursday (May 4) night with a 3-1 (18-25, 25-18, 25-15, 25-19) loss to top-seeded UC Irvine (25-5) in the NCAA National Semifinals. Penn State was making its 14th straight appearance in the NCAA Semifinals and 28th overall. (more)

The fourth-seeded Penn State men's volleyball team (23-5) is set to face No. 1 seed UC Irvine AT 9 p.m. ET on Thursday (May 3). The Nittany Lions are making their 27th overall appearance in the NCAAs and their 14th straight. Fans can watch Penn State's match online at NCAA.com. Live stats will also be available. With a 3-0 sweep of Princeton in the EIVA Semifinals and a 3-1 win against George Mason in the EIVA Championship, Penn State won its 14th consecutive EIVA title and earned an automatic berth into the NCAA National Semifinals. The eighth-ranked Penn State men's volleyball team (23-5) earned a 3-1 (25-16, 25-21, 20-25, 25-22) victory against George Mason Saturday (April 28) evening to take the EIVA Championship title. The victory marked Penn State's 24th overall and 14th straight EIVA crown. The win earns Penn State an automatic bid to the 2012 NCAA National Collegiate Men's Volleyball Championship hosted by USC on May 3 and 5. The Nittany Lions are the No. 4 seed and will face No. 1 seed UC-Irivine at 9 p.m. ET at USC's Galen Center in the first semifinal match. (more)

The top-seeded Nittany Lions will face No. 3 seed George Mason on Saturday, April 28 in the EIVA Championship match at Rec Hall. Redshirt senior Joe Sunder (Greensburg, Pa.) was named the Uvaldo Acosta Memorial Player of the Year for the second consecutive year, and was also selected to the All-EIVA first team. (more)

Redshirt senior men's volleyball player Joe Sunder (Greensburg, Pa.) was named a second team AVCA All-American, the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced Thursday (April 26). Penn State York honored its student athletes at the 41st annual Athletic Awards Banquet Thursday, April 19, at Heritage Hills Golf Resort & Conference Center, York, Pa. Awards were presented prior to dinner.

Twelve Penn State York students earned the distinction of Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) Academic All-Conference. This honor is bestowed on those student athletes who have a semester grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher during the semester of competition or a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and completion of at least 24 credits.
