Penn State's senior class gift committee is now accepting proposals for the 2010 class gift, continuing a tradition that dates back to the class of 1861. A volunteer committee of students, faculty, and staff will establish a ballot of three potential gifts after reviewing these proposals. In late October, seniors will be asked to vote for their choice to represent the class of 2010's support for the University. "Philanthropy has impacted every Penn State student - from library resources and scholarships to research opportunities and cutting edge technology," said senior class gift committee chair Michael Lampariello. "Professor Fred Lewis Pattee -- author of our Alma Mater -- many years ago wrote that 'the individuality of a College is the sum total given by every student that has attended the school.' The 2010 senior class gift, with input from the community, will characterize our time at Penn State and our commitment to the future success of the University." Anyone in the University community is eligible to submit a proposal for the gift. To do so, visit http://www.SeniorClassGift.psu.edu and follow the proposal instructions. The deadline for submission is Friday, Sept. 11. For more information, contact senior class gift adviser Jordan Ford at (814) 863-3935. (more)
