Penn State has been ranked as one of the top universities in the world, according to the new analysis announced from the Times Higher Education World Rankings. Penn State is ranked 51st in the world, joining schools from England, Germany, Japan, Switzerland, Canada, Sweden, Australia, China, Hong Kong and Singapore at the top of the list. (more)

The Penn State Nittany Lion wrestling team, led by head coach Cael Sanderson, are ranked No. 2 in the latest USA Today/NWCA Dual Meet Coaches Poll. Veterans Brad Pataky (Clearfield, Pa.) and Quentin Wright (Wingate, Pa.) have re-entered the Intermat individual rankings, giving Penn State eight wrestlers ranked by Intermat. (more)

A recent assessment by the National Research Council has placed Penn State's Department of Chemistry among the top chemistry departments in the nation. The report's ranking methods gauge many productivity factors, such as the number of research publications and research grants per faculty member as well as the number of times other scientific studies cite a faculty member's publications. Penn State's College of Education and its graduate programs continue to earn high rankings, as shown in the latest national rankings of graduate programs released on April 15 by US News & World Report. All of the College's graduate programs appear at least in the top 20 of their respective program rankings, with six programs in the top 10. The College's Higher Education program was ranked first for the third time in four years. (more)

Twenty-one Penn State graduate school programs rank among the top 10 in the nation, with others also recognized among the best in the country in U.S. News & World Report's "America's Best Graduate Schools," announced March 28. The publication is dated April 7 and is already available on newsstands. "It's gratifying to see so many of our graduate programs continue to be recognized for their outstanding work," said Eva Pell, senior vice president for research and dean of The Graduate School. "While rankings may not be the only measure of success, it is encouraging to see Penn State's graduate education receive such well-earned recognition." (more)
