A photography display entitled 'Standing Still; behind solitude' by Kyung Min Kim is on display in the lower lobby hallway of the Penn State Beaver Student Union Building. Kim, a native of Seoul, South Korea, is a sophomore psychology major at Beaver. Later this month, he will exhibit a series of his paintings in the same location. The public is invited to view the exhibits. The Penn State Beaver library is hosting a display of nature photography by James Monroe, professor of physics, who retired from Penn State in December 2007. The public is invited to visit the exhibit. Over the years, Monroe has traveled the country to photograph unique and often unseen views of nature. His work can be seen in area shops, and he has donated his photos to help fundraising efforts on behalf of scholarships for campus students. Monroe taught at Beaver for 30 years. The Gallery at Penn State Lehigh Valley will participate in Lehigh Valley Photography Month with the exhibition "American Scenics" featuring the photographs of Gary Graves and Anne Gridley. The exhibit is part of the InVision Photo FestivalTM presented by ArtsQuestTM and runs from Nov. 3-Dec. 8. An artist reception will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 9, from 5-7 p.m. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public. (more)

The Penn State Center @ Overlook Park, an outreach venue directed by Penn State Lehigh Valley's Continuing Education department, is accepting enrollments for the next two sessions in a new series of hands-on workshops that explore technology, the arts, literature, and more. The next two sessions will cover Online Publishing and Photography and Photoshop. Sessions are held the second Saturday of each month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and include lunch. Register now for "Creative Photography: Through the Doctor's Lens" presented by Michael J. Green. Sessions will take place from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 7, 14 and 21, and Jan. 4, at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in room C1800. Photographers Kern Little and Victoria Little received awards at the "What is religion to you?" juried photography exhibit presented by the Coalition for Equity at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus. Kern Little was presented the juror's first place $100 prize for his work "God and Country" and Victoria Little received the second place prize of $50 for her piece "Crosses Flowing in Every Corner". The eighth annual film festival at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus will begin Tuesday, Oct. 12, with film events continuing throughout October. In conjunction with the start of the film festival is the opening of a juried photography exhibit presented by the Coalition for Equity that will be on display through Jan. 12, 2011. A common theme of religion ties the two events together. Both events are free, open to the public and take place in the campus' Williams Building. (more)
The Coalition for Equity at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus is asking for original photography submissions from the public for a juried photography exhibition Oct. 12, 2010, through Jan. 12, 2011. The theme is "What is religion to you?" and it collaborates with other planned Coalition for Equity events throughout the fall, including guest speakers, debates and a film festival. (more)
