Students from four area high schools recently visited Penn State Beaver to view the Penn State EcoCAR2, an experimental car designed by the Penn State Advanced Vehicle Team, as well as an alternative fuel car supplied by Pittsburgh Clean Cities. The students, who were from Western Beaver, Seneca Valley, Hopewell, and Blackhawk High Schools, also attended an information session about advanced fuels and vehicles that was presented by members of the EcoCAR2 Team. In addition, the vehicle was the subject of a feature story that appeared in a recent edition of the Beaver County Times. Penn State's EcoCAR2 is the result of a three-year national competition known as EcoCAR2: Plugging In to the Future which was developed as part of a competition among 15 universities and sponsored by General Motors and the U.S. Department of Energy.
