-- Daehee Park, a 2009 graduate of Penn State's College of Information Sciences and Technology (IST), who works in monetization and analytics at Mulu, a celebrity-supported social commerce platform that raises money for charities. Park spoke at the University Park campus April 11 during IST's Start-up Week, a week-long celebration showcasing talented young entrepreneurs from around the country, including several Penn State alumni. Park leads Mulu's eCommerce team around platform monetization, brand integration, data strategy and analytics. More than 225 students, members of the campus community, and others listened to the 25-year-old entrepreneur talk about following his passion and pursuing a dream.

Last fall, three Centre County friends were discussing the idea of transforming their passion for riding bicycles into a business opportunity. With the assistance of the Penn State Small Business Development Center, the three decided on a unique business model for Central Pennsylvania: a bicycle touring business targeting women. (more)

The Penn State Small Business Development Center's (SBDC) First Step Seminar is designed exclusively for entrepreneurial-minded students, as well as faculty and staff, who may have an idea for a business and need help starting up.
