Firefighters battled a controlled blaze on the tarmac at Penn State's University Park Airport on May 23 during a full-scale emergency exercise. The exercise was designed to provide real-time training and recertification for emergency response personnel from around the Centre Region.

A Moroccan farmer taught Penn State students about the properties of vetiver grass, including its ability to clean wastewater. The grass could be used as part of a solution to water-quality problems being experienced in Assoul, Morocco, where students spent time recently.

Penn State York offers courses beginning in October

Adult learners interested in enrolling in a credit program still have time to take a course this fall at Penn State York. Two courses are being offered through the Video Learning Network (VLN) and the other is a blended course combining in-person instruction with online work. All three courses are being offered in an accelerated, seven-week format and are offered once a week from 6-9 p.m. Credits earned can be applied toward a certificate or degree program. (more)

Penn State Beaver Continuing Education offers CLE courses

The Penn State Beaver Office of Continuing Education has been approved by Penn State Abington to offer a series of courses that meet requirements for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit. Each class will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesdays in Room 16 at the Student Union Building on Beaver campus. The fee is $40 per course. Maricopa, World Campus agreement opens access to Penn State degree

Penn State recently announced that an articulation agreement will give Arizona's Maricopa Community College students the opportunity to apply the credits they earned toward a Penn State bachelor's degree. Maricopa recently signed agreements with Penn State that facilitates access to Penn State's online bachelor's degree programs. (more)
