Four engineers named part of 2011 homecoming court

Sienna George, a chemical engineering junior and member of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), received the 2012 Priscilla Guthrie World-Class Engineer Award. (more)
Michael Patrick Howard, a chemical engineering junior, was one of two Penn State students who received a Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship for the 2012-2013 academic year. He is one of only 58 engineering students nationwide who received the award. (more)
Six engineering graduate students were recognized and received awards for their presentations in the 27th Annual Graduate Exhibition, held March 23 and 25 on Penn State's University Park campus. (more)

Ronald D. Ondechek Jr., a 1999 chemical engineering alumnus, was one of 11 young Penn State alumni honored for outstanding professional accomplishments and presented with the Penn State Alumni Association's Alumni Achievement Award at a dinner ceremony March 30 at the Nittany Lion Inn on the University Park campus. Three faculty members from the College of Engineering have been elevated to the rank of distinguished professor. The faculty members are Theresa Mayer in electrical engineering, Padma Raghavan in computer science and engineering and Darrell Velegol in chemical engineering. (more)

Two students and two professors from the College of Engineering are part of the 2011 Homecoming court. Athena Abate and William Sheehan were both elected to the student court. Enrique Gomez and Paul Lynch were elected to the university court. Voting for the 2011 Homecoming king and queen will take place Oct. 10-14 during Homecoming week. (more)
