Candace Bushnell, author of "Sex and the City," and Jennifer Weiner, author of "In Her Shoes," both wildly popular writers of books that speak to women of all generations, shared the stage on March 19, relaying funny and inspiring stories to the mostly female student audience. The public is invited to attend a free film screening at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus titled "Les Voix/Voies Feminines: Feminine Voices/Feminine Paths" in honor of Women's History Month. The screenings will take place from noon to 4 p.m. March 26, in Swimmer Hall in the Williams Building on campus. The films being shown are "War Dance" and "What I Want My Words to Do to You." (more)

Lori Ginzberg isn't a big fan of biographies, and she hardly considered penning one herself, but the Penn State professor of history and women's studies decided the subject of her most recent book "Elizabeth Cady Stanton: An American Life," is just too interesting to pass up. (more)

The Office of Student Affairs at Penn State Lehigh Valley is holding a luncheon highlighting March as Women's History Month at 12:15 p.m. on March 16. The event, open to students, faculty and staff, will feature guest speakers and will allow the campus community to honor the women who make a difference in their own lives. (more)

March 16:
Pack a bag lunch for Instructor in Communications Karrie Bowen's discussion titled "Overcoming Domestic Violence" from 12:30 to 1:20 p.m. in room 205 Main Building.
March 19:
Assistant Professor of History Julie Gallagher will guide the campus through "The Life and Times of Rosie the Riveter" during two open classroom film screenings from 10 to 11:15 a.m. and 1 to 2:15 p.m. in the Vairo Library, room 110.
On the same day, Assistant Professor of Integrative Arts Constance Kirker will lead another brown bag lunch campus forum titled "Bronze Age Revisited or Bacon Beauties" from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. in the Vairo Library, room 129.
March 20:
The week of events will close with Associate Professor of Earth & Mineral Sciences Laura Guertin's lecture "Women in Science: Africa" from 10:30 to 11:20 a.m. in the Tomeszko Classroom Building, room 101.

Penn State York will celebrate Women's History Month with a presentation, "Political Feminism and the Problem of Sarah Palin," on Thursday, March 19 by Catherine Rymph, historian from the University of Missouri. The noon-hour program is in Room 105 of the Main Classroom Building at the campus and is free and open to the public. (more)

Since its creation at Penn State in 1985, the Center for Women Students has been celebrating Women's History Month every March. "Women's History Month is really a celebration of women's heritage and their history," said the center's director, Peggy Lorah. "Every year we have a couple of events that folks can attend and that are scheduled at various times so hopefully, regardless of schedules, people can come to at least one event." (more)
