Penn State College of Education students are taking part in an international cause aimed at improving the literacy of students in the African nation of Swaziland. They are collecting used books in support of the African Book Project, a not-for-profit organization headquartered in New Orleans. The project provides much-needed reading materials to children around the world. (more)

Planning is well under way for the 2009 Penn State Summer Conference for Partnerships and Professional Development Schools. All persons involved in any facet of professional development school (PDS) initiatives are invited to attend. Sponsored by Penn State's College of Education, the conference runs July 9-11 on the University Park campus of Penn State. (more)

For the third time in eight years, the Professional Development School (PDS) collaborative between Penn State's College of Education and the State College Area School District has received a major national award. The Penn State/State College PDS was recently named winner of the inaugural Exemplary Professional Development School Achievement Award, given by the National Association for Professional Development Schools (NAPDS).
