New graduates of Penn State's Eberly College of Science listened to the commencement address provided by United States Secretary of Energy Steven Chu during spring 2012 graduation ceremonies held May 5 at the Bryce Jordan Center on the University Park campus.

A Moroccan farmer taught Penn State students about the properties of vetiver grass, including its ability to clean wastewater. The grass could be used as part of a solution to water-quality problems being experienced in Assoul, Morocco, where students spent time recently.

This past summer, a group of 38 students and faculty from Penn State and Jiagnan University journeyed to Lake Taihu in Wuxi, China, as part of a united research effort to study the country's third largest freshwater lake. For the team, it was a sobering look at the price China has paid for its meteoric economic growth and expansion. (more)

Moving trucks and a busload of movers arrived at the Penn State Lehigh Valley campus in Fogelsville at 8 a.m. Monday, Aug. 10, to start the four-day process of transporting the building contents to campus' new location in Center Valley.

In her new book, Nichola D. Gutgold, associate professor of communication arts and sciences at Penn State Lehigh Valley, argues that Hillary Clinton gained more than she lost in her bid for the presidency. The book, published in July by Lexington Books, is an account of Hillary Clinton's presidential bid, with special emphasis on her communication skills and media coverage, from her sophisticated YouTube-style announcement speech to her ardent campaigning on behalf of her rival, Barack Obama. It covers the stump speeches, debates, and notable media moments in between. (more)

At roughly 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 13, with the help of Dan Puchyr, Penn State Lehigh Valley alumnus and president of Bracy Contracting, the Lehigh Valley campus Nittany Lion Shrine will make its way from the top of Mohr Lane in Fogelsville to its new home in front of the campus' new location in Center Valley. It will travel aboard a 20-foot stake body truck along Route 78. Bracy Contracting is donating the equipment and labor to ensure this monumental task goes off without a hitch. (more)

The sessions will be held at the Corporate Learning Center located at 100 Brodhead Road in Bethlehem, Pa..
