For an initiative connected with "Out of This World: The Landscapes of Our Solar System," a traveling exhibit that was on display in March and April in The Gallery at Penn College, David S. Richards, professor of physics, offered 45-minute interactive workshops for students in fifth to eighth grades. (more)
More than two dozen high school juniors and sophomores graduated recently from Pennsylvania College of Technology's second annual Youth Leadership Program. Student teams from three area secondary schools will share $1,000 to fund civic projects they proposed during the program. (more)
Students in computer aided design majors at Pennsylvania College of Technology concluded a year's worth of design work recently when they tested their projects on a college parking lot. The pedal-powered, four-wheeled "quad cycles" the students designed sported frames constructed with 1-inch PVC pipe. (more)
"Illuminations," an exhibit of works by Cathy Breslaw, will be displayed at The Gallery at Penn College from May 18 to June 28. Breslaw's work explores the possibilities of using familiar and accessible commercial materials to create art pieces that awaken the mind and spirit. (more)
Pennsylvania College of Technology will hold three commencement ceremonies May 11-12. During the ceremonies, the college will bestow Distinguished Alumni and Alumni Achievement awards, and Distinguished Teaching Awards will be presented to faculty. Degrees will be conferred by President Davie Jane Gilmour, assisted by retiring Board of Directors Chairman Robert E. Dunham. (more)
The Children's Learning Center at Pennsylvania College of Technology now bears the name retiring Penn College Board of Directors Chairman Robert E. Dunham and his wife, Maureen. The surprise announcement was made after the April 26 Board of Directors meeting at Penn College. Dunham's last meeting as chairman will be in June. (more)
Phillip D. Landers, retired professor of business administration/management at Pennsylvania College of Technology, has been approved for professor emeritus status by the Penn College Board of Directors. Landers retired in August after 43 years as a faculty member. (more)
Pennsylvania College of Technology's North Campus is hosting information sessions in May for those interested in pursuing nursing or medical assisting as a career. Information about the application process, tuition and financial aid will be provided for the noncredit course offerings in Practical Nursing and Medical Assistant. (more)
Graphic design students in their senior year will display the best works from their collegiate portfolios in the "Design: 2012" exhibit at The Gallery at Penn College. The exhibit will be on display through May 11. (more)
