It certainly wasn't a change in climate that drew Carlos Wiley from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville to Penn State -- both Platteville and State College enjoy their fair share of frigid temperatures and precipitation throughout the winter months. Instead, the new director of Penn State's Paul Robeson Cultural Center said it was a change in population that drew him east. "What attracted me to the position was the ability to work at a larger campus and the focus of working with and alongside students," Wiley said. (more)

Carlos Wiley has been hired as the new director of Penn State's Paul Robeson Cultural Center, effective Sept. 7. Wiley replaces Tony Keith, who held the director position on an interim basis after Toby Jenkins left Penn State in 2009. (more)

Four days of cultural celebration at Penn State kicks off on Tuesday, March 16. Students, faculty and staff are invited to participate in events that will educate them on other cultures through film, food, art, bazaars, music and discussion. (more)

As a graduate assistant in Penn State's Paul Robeson Cultural Center, Samuel Lopez vowed to leave a lasting impression. Lopez, who graduated from Penn State on May 16, was instrumental in creating and implementing the Paul Robeson Cultural Center Social Justice Initiative. That initiative's capstone, the Social Justice Symposium, occurred on April 26. (more)
