Six Penn State football student-athletes have been invited to participate in the National Football League's 2010 Scouting Combine. The Nittany Lions lead the Big Ten in total invitees the past two years with 14. Penn State All-Americans Jared Odrick (DT, Lebanon) and Navorro Bowman (LB, District Heights, Md.) will participate in the Combine, which will be held Feb. 24-March 2 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Quarterback Daryll Clark (Youngstown, Ohio), linebacker Josh Hull (Millheim), linebacker Sean Lee (Pittsburgh) and tight end Andrew Quarless (Uniondale, N.Y.) also have been invited to the Combine. All-Big Ten tailback Evan Royster (Fairfax, Va.) announced Wednesday he will remain at Penn State for his senior season. "I wanted to return to finish my degree and for my final year at Penn State," Royster said. "I'm looking forward to next season." Royster is a Management Information Systems major and is on schedule to graduate in May. He made his decision to return to Penn State without having his NFL draft status prospects known. (more)
Penn State junior linebacker Navorro Bowman and senior defensive tackle Jared Odrick (Lebanon) have earned several additional All-America honors. Bowman has been selected a second team All-American by Sporting News, SI.com (Sports Illustrated), Rivals.com and Phil Steele's College Football. Earlier this week, the standout linebacker was named a second team All-American by CBSsports.com and a third team choice by the Associated Press. Bowman has garnered six All-America recognitions thus far. Odrick earned second team All-America honors from Rivals.com and Phil Steele's and third team accolades from Sporting News. Odrick previously was selected to the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) All-America Team, becoming Penn State's 94th first team All-American. He also was named a second team All-Americans by the Associated Press and CBSsports.com, giving him six All-America honors so far. (more)
Penn State senior defensive tackle Jared Odrick (Lebanon, Pa.), junior linebacker Navorro Bowman (District Heights, Md.) and senior tackle Dennis Landolt (Burlington, N.J.) have been named to the Associated Press All-America team. Odrick was named to the second team, while Bowman and Landolt were third team selections. Penn State and Iowa led all Big Ten schools with three AP All-Americans. (more)

Junior linebacker Navorro Bowman (District Heights, Md.) was selected Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week and senior quarterback Daryll Clark (Youngstown, Ohio) was selected the conference's Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season. The Nittany Lion who made the game-changing play in Penn State's 31-20 win over Indiana on Saturday has been honored by the Big Ten Conference. Junior linebacker Navorro Bowman (District Heights, Md.) recorded 12 tackles and returned an interception 73 yards for a touchdown to earn Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week accolades. Penn State coach Joe Paterno and junior linebacker Navorro Bowman (District Heights, Md.) and have been selected as semifinalists for two awards presented by the Maxwell Football Club. Paterno is among the 15 nominees for the Maxwell Football Club's college coach of the year honor, the George Munger Award. Paterno previously was selected as the George Munger Award recipient in 2005. Bowman is one of 16 players under consideration for the Chuck Bednarik Award, an honor bestowed upon the nation's top defensive player. (more)
