Penn State EcoCAR2 team to unveil newest vehicle March 28

After months of designing and simulating hybrid concept designs, the Penn State Advanced Vehicle Team (PSU AVT) will host an event to publicly reveal its final vehicle architecture for the three years of the national competition known as EcoCAR2: Plugging In to the Future.

The event will take place from noon to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28, outside the Thomas D. Larson Pennsylvania Transportation Institute on University Drive and Hastings Road on the University Park campus of Penn State. Penn State community members and the general public are invited to stop by and learn about the vehicle architecture, as well as meet the dedicated team of students that designed it. (more)

Larson Pennsylvania Transportation Institute at Penn State, has received laboratory accreditation from the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA). "Why Would Anyone Invest in Public Transportation?" William Millar spoke on this subject during the 2011 Thomas D. Larson Distinguished Transportation Lecture. Millar pointed out that public transportation represents a profitable and essential investment. Millar spoke to a full room on Dec. 6 at the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel. It's 1 a.m. and students can be seen working late into the night at Penn State's Hybrid and Hydrogen Vehicle Research Laboratory on this, the final day of preparation before their vehicle ships for the 2010 EcoCAR: The NeXt Challenge competition May 17-27. Sixteen North American universities are expected to compete in a series of events that will test vehicles and teams at the GM Desert Proving Ground in Yuma, Ariz., and at locations throughout San Diego, Calif.
