"Exploring Potential University Partnerships and Indigenous Beekeeping in Kenya" is the topic of an upcoming presentation to be held at noon on July 20, in 203 Paterno Library on Penn State's University Park campus. The seminar will be presented by Elliud Muli of the South Eastern University College (SEUCO) and the International Centre of Insect Parisitology and Ecology, in Kenya. The "digital divide" and "brain drain" in information technology have affected the U.S. since the mid-1990s. Kenya and other African nations are now facing those same problems more than a decade later as their IT infrastructures continue to improve. However, Penn State researcher Lynette Kvasny also found that IT is also being used to improve the quality of life in Kenya in several ways.
