The new email filter, which is set to activate on Tuesday, May 22, will identify suspicious messages such as phishing scams and other email-based fraud. To encourage adoption of the latest wireless technologies at Penn State, the University will end the "wireless 1.0" Virtual Private Network (VPN) service on July 1. All users should plan to transition to the University's latest "wireless 2.0" service for on-campus wireless connectivity. (more)

Faculty, instructors and graduate students are invited to sign up for free workshops during two Summer-Fest sessions developed to target technology as it relates to pedagogy and research. Sessions are scheduled to take place during the week between spring and summer semesters (May 7-11), as well as the week before the start of fall semester (Aug. 13-17). (more)
Students interested in being Tech Tutors, and graduate students interested in exploring technology can do so with the help of ITS Training Services. Students at University Park may apply to become Tech Tutors to help other students use technology to complete course assignments and to provide faculty members with assistance on technology-related teaching, learning and class management topics. Registration is now open for the IT Matters Breakfast Series, hosted by Kevin Morooney, vice provost for Information Technology at Penn State. Morooney will be joined by Barbara Dewey, dean of the University Libraries and Scholarly Communications, for a thought-provoking discussion of the impact of technology on the future of university libraries.
