Penn State women's volleyball opposite Blair Brown (Purcellville, Va.) has been voted one of three finalists for the Honda-Broderick Cup, given to the Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year. The finalists were chosen from previously announced Honda Sports Award winners in 12 different NCAA-sanctioned sports, by a vote from among more than 1,000 NCAA-member institutions. The Honda-Broderick Cup winner will be revealed at a special press conference on June 27 at Columbia University in New York. "We are extremely proud of what Blair has accomplished during her time at Penn State," said Director of Athletics Tim Curley. (more)

Penn State women's volleyball outside hitter Megan Hodge (Durham, N.C.) has been named one of two winners of the Honda-Broderick Cup designating the top Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year. Hodge shares the honor with University of Connecticut women's basketball junior Maya Moore. It is just the second time in the history of the Collegiate Women's Sports Award that two female athletes have tied for the Honda-Broderick Cup. The pair was selected by a vote among 1,000 NCAA member schools and the Board of Directors of the Collegiate Women Sports Awards Program. (more)
