Penn State will host a high-level delegation of invited researchers and administrators from the U.S. and India Oct. 10-11, 2011, to create a network of scholars and policy makers that can serve as a think-tank for discussing opportunities and challenges associated with higher education in India. "We expect that this inaugural conference will also contribute to establishing and strengthening relationships and friendships between academic communities in the U.S. and in India, and of course with Penn State," said Michael Adewumi, vice provost for Global Programs and leader of the Global Engagement Network strategy. Penn State students Matt Kweller, Jennifer Maloney and Melissa Thomas have been selected by IES Abroad to blog about their study abroad experiences in Buenos Aires, Dublin and London during spring semester 2011. They are among 31 students chosen from a pool of more than 200 who applied to blog about their experiences abroad. (more)
Begin the quest to study abroad at Study Abroad 101, hosted by the University Office of Global Programs at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 2, in 412 Boucke Building. Global Ambassadors will provide the basics on study abroad and give interested students the tools to ask the right questions. Learn the difference between program types, program duration, financial aid and debunk the myths surrounding study abroad. Study Abroad 101 is held the first Wednesday of every month during the academic year and is available to all Penn State campuses by video conference. (more)
