Linda Patterson Miller, the 2011-2012 Penn State laureate, invites students, faculty, staff and community members to the Penn State Laureate Jubilee, a public event featuring past, present and future Penn State laureates in celebration of the University's commitment to the arts and humanities. The first-ever event takes place from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, at the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center on the University Park campus. The Penn State Beaver Office of Continuing Education will offer an SAT review course, 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, April 21 through May 26. The 18-hour program is designed to assist high school students who are preparing to take the SAT exam.

Ben Morgan, a junior at Penn State York majoring in English, is the winner of the third annual Penn State York Blue & White Society (BWS) essay contest. Current students were asked, "How do you show your Penn State pride on our campus and in our community?"
Morgan, 25, from Hanover, Pa., shared his thoughts in his essay, "I Pride Therefore I Act." He received a certificate and a $50 gift card to the Penn State York Bookstore. Second place winner is Brian Baker, 18, from York, Pa., a freshman majoring in education, with his essay "Why I'm Penn State Proud." He received a $25 gift card to the bookstore.
