Penn State's Big Ten home opener against Iowa on Oct. 8 will kick at 3:30 p.m. in Beaver Stadium. The ABC regional telecast will air nationally on ESPN outside of the ABC coverage area. Penn State's undefeated 1986 National Championship team will be honored at the Iowa game, which also will air on the Penn State Sports Network and www.GoPSUsports.com. The contest against the Hawkeyes is the Nittany Lions' eighth announced kick time and seventh announced telecast of the season. Penn State will be making its fifth appearance of the season on an ESPN-owned network, with this Saturday's Big Ten opener at Indiana airing on ESPNU. (more)
Penn State will open its 19th Big Ten Conference campaign with a noon kickoff on Oct. 1 at Indiana. The contest from IU's Memorial Stadium will air on ESPNU, the Penn State Sports Network and www.GoPSUsports.com. ESPNU is available in approximately 73 million homes. On Comcast Cable in the Centre Region, ESPNU airs on channels 272 and 853 (HD). The Nittany Lions and Hoosiers will be opening Big Ten competition as members of the Leaders Division, joining Illinois, Ohio State, Purdue and Wisconsin as division rivals. The Penn State women's basketball team revealed its 2011-12 Big Ten Conference schedule today. The Lady Lions kick off their 16-game Big Ten slate at the Bryce Jordan Center against Big Ten newcomer Nebraska on Friday, Dec. 30. Penn State will appear on national television at least eight times during the regular season, including three appearances on ESPN2 and one game on CBS. (more)
Penn State coach Patrick Chambers' first season in the Big Ten will open with road dates at Michigan and Northwestern the conference announced Wednesday when it released complete schedules, tip times and television arrangements for all 12 conference teams. The Nittany Lions will begin their 20th season of Big Ten Conference play and first under Chambers on Thursday, Dec. 29 in Ann Arbor, Mich., as they take on the Wolverines in a 7:30 p.m. ET tip on the Big Ten Network (BTN). The Lions will follow up that game with a Sunday, Jan. 1 tip at Northwestern in a 7 p.m. ET contest televised by ESPNU. (more)

The four-time defending national champion Penn State women's volleyball team will have at least seven televised matches during the 2011 season. The Nittany Lions will be featured on the Big Ten Network six times and also have one match broadcast on ESPN2. The Nittany Lions open the 2011 season hosting the AVCA Showcase on Aug. 26-27 at Rec Hall. Joining the Lions at Rec Hall are Minnesota, USC and Oregon. Minnesota opens the Showcase versus USC at 6 p.m. on Aug. 26 followed by Penn State against Oregon at 8 p.m. On Aug. 27, Minnesota challenges Oregon at 6 p.m. and the Nittany Lions take on USC at 8 p.m. All four matches are set to be broadcast live on the Big Ten Network. Penn State's Oct. 22 match with Michigan will be tape-delayed and aired on ESPN2 at 1 p.m. on Oct. 23. (more)

The 2011 ESPY Awards take place on Wednesday, July 13 live on ESPN (9 p.m.) at the Nokia Theater in downtown Los Angeles. Penn State's return to Philadelphia and a clash with Temple on Sept. 17 has been set for a noon kickoff at Lincoln Financial Field. The game will air on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU HD, as well as the Penn State Sports Network and www.GoPSUsports.com. The contest against the Owls is the Nittany Lions' fifth announced kick time for the 2011 season. Penn State and Temple will be meeting for the sixth consecutive year and 41st time overall. The Nittany Lions lead the series, 36-3-1, winning 22-13 last year in Beaver Stadium. Penn State's last visit to Lincoln Financial Field was in 2007, with the visitors winning, 31-0. (more)
