A Moroccan farmer taught Penn State students about the properties of vetiver grass, including its ability to clean wastewater. The grass could be used as part of a solution to water-quality problems being experienced in Assoul, Morocco, where students spent time recently.

State College Borough Police and Penn State Police have completed a five-week, joint investigation into the source of alcohol involving the death of Penn State student Joseph Dado, 18, who was found dead Sept. 21 on campus after falling. Toxicology reports showed his blood alcohol content was .169 percent. Police filed criminal charges with Magisterial District Justice Jonathan Grine today (Oct. 29) against two fraternities and two individuals. (more)

Coroner rules student death accidental from fall

University Park, Pa. -- The death of 18-year-old Penn State student Joseph Dado has been ruled accidental and the cause has been attributed to "trauma to the head," according to Centre County Coronor Scott Sayers. Dado was found by University maintenance workers at 6 p.m. Sept. 21 at the bottom of a stairwell on the University Park campus after being reported missing. (more)

University Park -- The body of missing 18-year-old Penn State student Joseph Dado was found by University maintenance workers at 6 p.m. today (Sept. 22) at the bottom of a stairwell on campus, about 75 yards away from the fraternity house where he was last seen. (more)
