A Moroccan farmer taught Penn State students about the properties of vetiver grass, including its ability to clean wastewater. The grass could be used as part of a solution to water-quality problems being experienced in Assoul, Morocco, where students spent time recently.

This week the Penn State Beaver Brodhead Cultural Center will present two free concerts. The Grammy Award-nominated Joe Grkman Polka Band will be in concert at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 25. Mark and Donna Groom, members of the renowned group, Jimmy Beaumont and The Skyliners, will present a concert at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 27. The Delaneys, one of western Pennsylvania's preeminent rock bands, will open a free concert featuring nationally recognized rock group, Badfish, on Thursday night, Sept. 4, at the Penn State Beaver Brodhead Cultural Center.
