In front of a raucous crowd of 5,209 fans, the Penn State Lady Lions clinched a share of their first Big Ten title since 2004 with a wire-to-wire win over Ohio State, 84-66. The Lady Lions had three players record double-doubles, led by junior Nikki Greene's 25-point, 15-rebound performance. (more)

Penn State senior goalkeeper Dana Cahill (Towson, Md.) has been named to the 2012 Tewaaraton Award Watch List. Renowned nationally as the pre-eminent honor bestowed in collegiate lacrosse, the Tewaaraton Award is presented annually to the NCAA female player of the year. (more)

Penn State men's lacrosse head coach Jeff Tambroni announced in conjunction with his counterparts at Michigan (John Paul) and Ohio State (Nick Myers) the establishment of the Creator's Trophy, which will be an annual award among the three Big Ten schools that sponsor men's lacrosse. (more)

The Big Ten Network released its live broadcast schedule for the 2012 baseball and softball seasons on Thursday (Feb. 16) featuring at least seven Penn State games. Overall, the Big Ten Network will televise a minimum of 59 baseball and softball games with at least 117 games on the Big Ten Digital Network (btn.com) across all 12 teams. (more)

Eight members of the Nittany Lion wrestling team continue to be ranked in the latest version of the Intermat national individual rankings. Four Nittany Lion All-Americans are ranked in the top two and all eight are listed in the top 12. Penn State is now 12-1 overall, 7-1 in the Big Ten, after a 39-3 win at Utah Valley on Saturday in front of a Utah-state college dual meet record 5,470 fans. Head coach Cael Sanderson's Lions are ranked No. 2 in the latest USA Today/NWCA Coaches Poll and continue to hold the No. 1 in Intermat's Tournament Power Index (TPI). (more)

Freshman sensation Robby Creese (Mount Airy, Md.) became just the third athlete in Penn State history to break the four-minute barrier in the mile run, Saturday (Feb. 11) at the Flotrack Husky Classic at the University of Washington. Creese was just one of a list of sensational performances by the Nittany Lions, as the teams concluded a weekend of action at the Husky Classic, Tyson Invitational at the University of Arkansas, and the Akron Invitational at the University of Akron. The Nittany Lion men's track and field team has entered the United States Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) Top 25 for the first time this season, entering the rankings at No. 17. Penn State is coming off another outstanding weekend of action, highlighted by a sub-four minute mile by freshman sensation Robby Creese (Mount Airy, Md.), who set the collegiate record at 1000 meters last month.
