Old Main surely ranks as one of the most photographed sites on the University Park campus, perhaps second only to the Nittany Lion Shrine in this respect. Why? Because, like the Nittany Lion, it is instantly recognizable, symbolizing a bond shared by hundreds of thousands of Penn Staters worldwide. Last year, Old Main received an added attraction when the class of 2009 unveiled the bell display as its gift to the University. A popular trend in higher education today is the use of digital gaming to facilitate learning. At an open house last fall, Penn State University Libraries employed digital gaming with a cameo performance by President Graham Spanier. Now visitors to the new installment of Penn State's Alumni Library can read more about this project and discover the concepts behind digital gaming and literacy. The Federal Legislative Resource Center, new this month on the Alumni Library online, will help viewers to become better informed on newly introduced legislation and how senators or representatives voted on pending items. (more)

The latest "edition" of Penn State's Alumni Library at http://alumni.libraries.psu.edu, features the recent history of searching for information electronically in the University Libraries -- not so long ago when there was no Google search engine, let alone Google Maps, Google Docs and others.
On Spotlight, looks at Penn State authors, including Amy Wendling, Penn State '06, who has just published her first book on Karl Marx.
