Penn State Fayette engineering student gets special honor from ASHRAE
Thursday, June 19, 2008Shelby McMahon, an engineering student at Penn State Fayette, has been selected as a consultant to the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) Inc.'s Student Activities Committee. ASHRAE is an international organization, and the Student Activities Committee runs several programs for kindergarten to 12th grade and college-age students. At ASHRAE's annual meeting, June 21-25 in Salt Lake City, McMahon will be representing about 5,000 student members of the more than 250 student branches of ASHRAE around the world. The committee investigates ways ASHRAE can best meet the challenge of encouraging students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. (more)
