Enrollment information session for employees is set for Oct. 7

Thursday, September 23, 2010

Penn State World Campus, Continuing Education, Student Affairs and Undergraduate Admissions are hosting an employee enrollment information session for spring 2011 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 7, in Room 129 (A, B and C) at the HUB-Robeson Center on the University Park campus. During this free, open house-style event, Penn State employees who are eligible for University educational privileges will have an opportunity to talk with staff members from these offices about how to use this education benefit.

"The University's grant-in-aid is an ideal resource for employees who want to expand their knowledge and skills, as well as their career options," said Bill Fritz, assistant director of Admissions for Continuing Education and World Campus in Recruitment and Admission Services.

The session will help employees learn how to use their tuition benefit to earn a credit certificate or complete a degree. They also will learn how to develop a part-time class schedule and create a workable educational plan that maximizes their time. Employees can mix face-to-face instruction during day, evening and weekend classes with online classes. They also can find out more about certificate, associate, bachelor's and master's degree programs, how to register for courses, transfer credits, use College-Level Examination Program tests to earn credits for prior learning, and financial aid.

Employees can drop in any time during the 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. time frame.

To preregister for the employee information session, call Recruitment and Admission Services at 814-865-5403 or send an e-mail to jlb83@psu.edu.
