HUB-Robeson Galleries’ Art on the Move program presents three new exhibits on display at the Student Health Center and 206 Old Main on the Penn State University Park campus. The three new exhibits are "Paintings by Liz Pasqualo," "Paintings by Nadia Wilson" and "Special Moments," photographs by Michelle Bixby.

"Paintings by Liz Pasqualo" will be on display from May 14 to Sept. 5, in the Student Health Center, University Park campus.

Zooming in on her subjects to the point of abstraction, Pasqualo wants to make the focus of her works more about the light, the colors and the reflections in them. Picking objects that tend to be overlooked in daily life, her paintings seek to find the beauty in the mundane. Pasqualo, a Manahawkin, NJ native, is working toward her bachelor of fine arts in painting and drawing at Penn State.

"Paintings by Nadia Wilson" will be on display from May 20 to Sept. 9, in 206 Old Main, University Park campus.

Inspired by cosmopolitan themes and the way color can express emotional intensity, Wilson uses color and shape to occupy the sensory memories of her audience. Her art reflects the amalgam that is an African American identity and a tribute to her European, Latin American, and Caribbean ancestry. Nadia DeLane Wilson is a visual artist with an masters of art in English from Penn State and holds a bachelor of art degree in English literature from Rutgers University.

"Special Moments," photographs by Michelle Bixby, will be held from May 20 to Sept. 12, in 206 Old Main, University Park campus.

Bixby describe photography as a universal language, allowing her the opportunity to tell stories in a way that words could never succeed. "Special Moments" is a representation of each special moment Bixby was able to capture and conveys a spectrum of emotions that can be felt by the viewers. Michelle Bixby received her bachelor of arts in journalism from the Penn State College of Communications in 2008. She currently works as a staff photographer for the Centre Daily Times.

The HUB-Robeson Galleries’ Art on the Move program focuses primarily on the artwork of Penn State students and alumni. Art on the Move contributes to the HUB-Robeson Galleries’ commitment to the well-rounded education of Penn State students by exhibiting a diverse selection of art.
