Become a fan of Penn State Career Services

Monday, November 16, 2009

Penn State Career Services recently created a Facebook fan page that will inform students, faculty, and staff of upcoming events and the various services and resources available to them.

The fan page will feature photos from workshops, article postings, NACE statistics, and various tips of the day from Career Services.

With the growing popularity of social networking sites, Career Services found it important to get on board with the recent trends.

“Students are encouraged to become a fan of Career Services,” said Holly Temple, associate director of information management. “We will be posting important and crucial information students will need that will help them in their career and job search.”

Career Services is not alone with its increased efforts in a greater social networking presence. According to the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), about 30 percent of employers plan to increase their use of social networking sites as part of their recruiting efforts toward 2009-10 graduates.
