Student group to host 'safer sex' parties

Most college students are interested in sex. The HIV/AIDS Risk Reduction Advisory Council (HARRAC) helps Penn State students make better decisions surrounding this popular topic. HARRAC provides students with information about safer sex practices, STI’s and HIV/AIDS in a fun and interactive environment called a safer sex party. 

A student volunteer group within University Health Services (UHS), HARRAC conducts free safer sex parties where condoms are distributed to participants. Party length is typically one hour and parties are available for men, women or co-ed groups. Group size can range between 5 and 20 students; HARRAC hosts parties for both on- and off-campus locations.

HARRAC is an outreach program within UHS’ Health Promotion and Wellness department. HARRAC promotes healthier sexual lifestyles among Penn State students through a variety of outreach activities. These outreach programs are designed to reduce students’ risk of sexually transmitted infections (STI’S) and HIV/AIDS. Outreach programs are hosted by HARRAC for Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, World AIDS Day, Valentine’s Day, and Spring Break, among others.
