Pharmaceutical CEO to give next Gaelen lecture
Monday, October 5, 2009Paul Howes, president and CEO of Inotek Pharmaceuticals, will deliver the semester's second lecture in the Norbert and Audrey Gaelen Entrepreneur Speaker Series at 4:45 p.m. on Oct. 12, in 112 Forest Resources Building.
Howes will present "Innovating in Health Care with No Revenue! (From Big Pharma to the World of Venture-Funded Biotech)."
He has been Inotek's president and CEO since September 2008. The Boston area biotechnology company has developed new drugs for the treatment of glaucoma and elevated intra-ocular pressure, retinal diseases and irritable bowel disease that are in the pre-clinical and clinical phases of testing.
The event was endowed in 2008 by Norbert Gaelen, a 1947 industrial engineering graduate, and brings up to six speakers to campus each year.
