New graduates of Penn State's Eberly College of Science listened to the commencement address provided by United States Secretary of Energy Steven Chu during spring 2012 graduation ceremonies held May 5 at the Bryce Jordan Center on the University Park campus.

A Moroccan farmer taught Penn State students about the properties of vetiver grass, including its ability to clean wastewater. The grass could be used as part of a solution to water-quality problems being experienced in Assoul, Morocco, where students spent time recently.

Football single game tickets on sale online at 10 a.m. Friday

University Park, Pa. — Individual game football tickets will be sold through an exclusive on-line sale beginning at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 31. Fans can participate in the sale directly through the Penn State Tickets website on GoPSUSports.com starting at at 10 a.m.

Phone orders will not be accepted for the single game sale and future sale dates are not anticipated. Ticket availability will differ dependent upon the game and a maximum purchase of 10 tickets will be permitted. Tickets will be available for the Akron, Temple, Eastern Illinois and Indiana games. Pre-paid parking passes for the General parking lots will also be available.

The price for 2009 tickets will be $64per bleacher seat and $68 per chairback seat. Individual pre-paid parking passes will be $10 per car and $20 per RV.

Penn State returns 37 letterwinners and 10 starters for the 2009 campaign. The Nittany Lions host Akron at noon on Sept. 5 (Big Ten Network) to open the season.
