University Park, Pa. -- Penn State Transportation, along with Fullington Tours, is once again offering its weekend bus service to New York City. The Big Apple Express will be available every weekend starting on Thursday, Aug. 28, and will take passengers right into downtown New York City.

The bus leaves State College at 2:30 p.m. and arrives at 7:15 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, just in time for a New York City dinner or Broadway show. The service is available to students, faculty, staff and the public for $43 one-way and $86 roundtrip. On Sundays, buses leave State College at 11 a.m. and arrive in the city around 3:45 p.m. Departure and arrival times may vary due to weather or traffic conditions.

For people in New York who want to spend a weekend in Happy Valley, the Express returns to State College at 8 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays from Port Authority. This will be helpful to those who would like to visit Penn State and the surrounding community for the weekend. On Sundays, buses depart for State College at 5 p.m. and arrive at 9:30 p.m.

Tickets can be ordered online at http://tickets.fullingtontours.com. Tickets also can be purchased at the Bus Depot at 152 N. Atherton St. in State College and by calling (814) 238-1100 or (814) 238-7971.

All trips include a brief stop at the Rockaway Mall in Dover, N.J. People with disabilities are asked to call (800) 942-8287 to coordinate accessibility needs up to 48 hours in advance.
