Andrew Zydney, department head and Walter L. Robb Family Endowed Chair in chemical engineering, has been selected to serve as editor-in-chief of the Journal of Membrane Science.
He was formally introduced at the International Congress on Membranes and Membrane Processes held July 12 to 18 in Hawaii. He will begin his new role Jan. 1.
According to Elsevier's Web site, the journal provides a focal point for "membranologists" and a vehicle for publication of significant contributions that advance the science and technology of membrane processes and phenomena.
Zydney has been a Penn State faculty member since 2001 and was named the chemical engineering department head in 2005.
He received his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Yale University and his doctoral degree in chemical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
