Matt Brezina, co-founder of Xobni Inc., is the Spring 2008 Bishoff Entrepreneur-in-Residence.
Xobni, which is "inbox" spelled backwards, produces a software application that extends the capability of a user's e-mail. The program creates rankings, graphs and statistics about a user's e-mail contacts. Xobni can tell its user a frequent e-mail contact has been out of touch, create conversation threads and extract telephone numbers from e-mail messages.
As part of the residency, Brezina spoke to a number of engineering entrepreneurship classes this week, as well as interacted with faculty. He will return to campus in April.
The Entrepreneur-in-Residence program is named for and underwritten with an endowment by E.V. Bishoff, who was a Pittsburgh native and longtime supporter of Penn State engineering. The program contributes to the engineering entrepreneurship program's mission to develop entrepreneurs and creative thinkers through innovation, leadership and project-based coursework.
