Recently, some users at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center reported that they have received a spam mail with the following subject "VERIFY YOUR PSU EMAIL ACCOUNT NOW." This bogus e-mail is impersonating Penn State support updating their database. Users are requested to confirm their e-mail identity to include their e-mail address, password, date of birth and country. The e-mail indicates failure to do this within seven days will render their Penn State account closed. Do not reply to the message as it attempts to steal your account information.
If you receive this message, delete the e-mail. If you have already replied, change your Penn State password immediately. To change your Penn State password go to the Penn State Web site at www.work.psu.edu/
Penn State Information Technology Security Operations and Services are investigating the origin of these messages, and taking all necessary actions to resolve this issue.
Managers and supervisors are asked to share this information with their employees. Medical Center campus employees should contact the Technical Support Center at (717) 531- 6281 if they encounter any problems.
