University Park, Pa. -- Penn State officials expect a prompt and heavy response when the 2007 student season football ticket online sale begins Thursday (June 7) at 9 a.m. ET.

More than 21,000 season tickets will be available for the vociferous and enthusiastic student section, called the nation's best by ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit during a visit to Beaver Stadium during the 2005 season. Penn State has made an additional 520 student season tickets available this year compared to 2006.

Tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at http://www.ticketmaster.com/venue/16740 online. Students are asked to have a valid credit card and their Student ID number on hand before beginning the purchase process. All tickets must be purchased with a credit card.

As soon as all tickets are sold, the sale will promptly end. All successful ticket purchases will result in the issue of a confirmation number.

All eligible Penn State students have been sent via email and U.S. Mail the instructions for participating in the sale.

Student season football tickets are $190 for the blockbuster, seven-game home schedule this fall.

In addition to the opportunity to purchase football season tickets, students also can order 2007-08 Nittany Lion and Lady Lion basketball tickets ($59 and $25, respectively), as well this year's Official White Out Shirt ($15) and a Student Nittany Lion Club membership ($25). All processing, handling and fulfillment fees are included in this pricing.

Additional information on the student ticket sale is available on the front page tile at http://www.GoPSUsports.com online, the official website of Penn State Athetics.

In his 42nd season as head coach, Joe Paterno's squad returns 15 starters and 33 letterwinners for the 2007 campaign, which begins Sept. 1 vs. Florida International in Beaver Stadium.
