Michelle Gordon Hough, assistant professor of business at Penn State McKeesport, has been named a Fulbright Scholar for the 2005-2006 award year. Hough will travel to Denmark this fall to fulfill the terms of her award, where she will lecture at the Niels Brock Copenhagen College of Business. In addition to teaching business courses, she will evaluate student projects necessary for completion of the students' educational requirements at the college.
Hough received her doctorate in information systems and communications from Robert Morris University. She earned a master of business administration from the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh. Her undergraduate work includes a bachelor of science in information science from the University of Pittsburgh and an associated degree in computer science from Penn State. Hough has been a faculty member at Penn State since 2001.
Before joining Penn State, Hough worked for USX Corp., serving as a senior buyer and team leader, a senior auditor and a systems analyst during her 13 years of service.
Hough is one of approximately 800 U.S. faculty and professionals who will travel abroad to some 140 countries for the 2005-2006 academic year through the Fulbright Scholar Program. Established in 1946 under legislation introduced by the late Sen. J. William Fulbright of Arkansas, the program's purpose is to build mutual understanding between the people of the United States and other countries.
