After sitting out both challenges in the last episode of "Survivor: Palau," Penn Stater Ian Rosenberger got into the action quickly in episode eight. He and tribemate Tom Westman faced off against the decimated Ulong tribe, which was down to two members. In the challenge, the competitors had to eat a local delicacy, duck embryo. The tribe that ate the most of them won the reward of 55 gallons of shower water, with a shower head and a basket of toiletries. Rosenberger and Westman came through once again, and won the challenge for their tribe. Once back at camp, however, tension built among the tribe members as they debated whether to use the 55 gallons of fresh water for showers or for drinking. Also, for the first time on the show, Koror members Rosenberger and Westman talked with each other about their secret alliance with Katie Gallagher and Ulong member Stephenie LaGrossa. With Rosenberger and Westman ineligible for the immunity challenge, Coby Archa and Gregg Carey represented Koror against the two surviving members of Ulong tribe, Bobby Jon Drinkard and Stephenie LaGrossa. Once again, Koror's tribe members won, sending Ulong to tribal council again. Back at camp, Koror tribemates celebrated, while at Ulong camp, Drinkard and LaGrossa pondered their fates. Because they were the only two members of the tribe left, they had to compete in an individual immunity challenge at tribal council, with the loser going home. In the challenge, LaGrossa was the first to build a fire to light her torch, preserving her life on the island. Tune in next week to see how Rosenberger and the rest of the competitors fare on "Survivor: Palau," scheduled to air at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 14, on CBS. Roseberger, 23, a native of Ambridge, majored in agricultural extension and educational leadership at Penn State, and served as student government president.
