University Park, Pa. -- The Penn State Sesquicentennial Time Capsule Committee is asking students, faculty and staff for suggestions in creating a capsule commemorating the University's 150th anniversary.
A joint effort between the Undergraduate Student Government at University Park and the Council of Commonwealth Student Governments, the project aims to capture the essence of Penn State life in 2005. The capsule will be buried at Homecoming 2005 and opened again in 2055.
"It's very exciting that we have the opportunity to help future Penn Staters understand the campus climate we experience today," Ed Rowe, co-chair of the committee, said. "We really want to see members of the Penn State community participate in this project by sending us suggestions."
Specifically, the committee is seeking photographers interested in adding to a series of albums to be included in the capsule. Any photographs used in the project will receive appropriate attribution.
Space in the capsule is limited, and all decisions regarding its contents ultimately will be made by the committee's co-chairs.
Interested photographers or anyone with ideas for items to include in the capsule should e-mail TimeCapsule@psu.edu.
