Penn State alumnus Ian Rosenberger was the first to win immunity on the opening episode of "Survivor: Palau" on CBS.
Penn State alumnus Ian Rosenberger was the first of 20 Survivors to make it to shore on the tropical island of Palau, earning him one of two coveted immunity necklaces to start the 10th season of "Survivor" on CBS. Rosenberger then had the first pick of his fellow castaways as the group was split into two nine-member teams, eliminating two people at the start of the game. Rosenberger's group also won team immunity, guaranteeing his survival to the next episode, set to air at 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, on CBS. Roseberger, 23, a native of Ambridge, majored in agricultural extension and educational leadership. He also served as the University’s homecoming king, participated in Penn State Thespians and the Essence of Joy choir, THON and served as a teacher's assistant. He currently works as a dolphin trainer and dolphin-assisted therapist for children with disabilities in Key Largo, Fla.
