With the Nittany Lions holding a 20-0 lead over Minnesota in the fourth quarter, some fans in the student section occupied themselves by taking the snow in the upper part of their section and building a snowman. The eyes and nose are made from hot chocolate mugs embedded in the snow.

Although field conditions prevented the Blue Band and Alumni Blue Band from marching on the field during pregame and halftime, they did get to stand in concert block to play on the field at postgame.
