Still Life: Rear admiral visits Penn State York
More than 70 Penn State York students, mostly engineering majors, gathered recently to hear Rear Adm. Scott A. Weikert, deputy commander, 1st Naval Construction Division, speak about the role engineering plays in the United States Navy. Weikert shared his career experiences and background and answered questions following the hour-long presentation at the campus on Sept. 17. Adm. Weikert discussed his experiences as the deputy commander and chief of staff of the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force Engineer Group, Camp Fallujah, Iraq, providing general engineering and construction services in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. His presentation took place Sept. 17 at Penn State York.
