Derrick Lampkin, assistant professor of geography, Penn State, extends the ribbon lift on the prototype robot. This arm will allow instruments to measure a variety of variables including temperature, reflection and humidity without influence from the robot's body. The robots are used for experiments on the Antarctic's ice sheets.
